Academic Activity

Dr. Irle has successfully supervised the research of 19 PhD, 3 MPhil, 20 MSc and numerous under¬graduate students.
His current students are:
  Baha Guezguez (2007-2010) ; Low Formaldehyde Emitting Adhesives for Panel Manufacture.
  Amine Bouslamti (2008-2011) ; The Development of a Robust Protocol for the Determination of Contamination Levels in Recycled Wood.

Technologic transfer project 2009 :

  Advice on the responsible recycling of wood
  Advice on the properties and use of MDF
  Formaldehyde release measurements
  Bespoke training course on the manufacture of particleboard
  Design of bespoke test methods

  COST Action E49 : Processes and Performance of Wood-Based Panels ; Dr. Irle is Chairman of this European network.
  InnovaWood ; Dr. Irle is an Executive Director of this European network of institutes involved in research, technology transfer and training in the forest products sector
  European Panels Federation ; ESB is an Associate member of this trade association and Dr. Irle represents ESB
  Wood Panels Industry Federation ; Dr. Irle is a member of the Technical Committee of WPIF, which is a trade association for users and manufacturers of wood-based panels
  COFRAC (Committée Français d’Accréditation) ; Dr. Irle is a Technical Expert for this organisation that is responsible for assessing quality systems in companies and institutes in France
  Institute of Wood Science ; Dr. Irle is a Fellow of this British institute that promotes research and training in wood science and technology
  EcoPanneaux ; Problematic of COV in wood based products
